ABOUT US

A Little History…

Owners Joe and Catherine Kassler have been in the cow business for over 26 years, involved with the Brangus breed for over 20 years, and focused on the registered Brangus cattle division in the last 12+ years.
They evaluated the Brangus genetic base and established a blueprint for their operation.  They chose females based on their maternal abilities, along with udder, feet and leg structure, and further selected for carcass traits and disposition. The foundation of their herd is Brinks-bred genetics selected from the great Camp Cooley program.

In 2006, The Oaks Farms bought half-interest in a young bull named Csonka of Brinks. They soon became full owner and watched as the bull matured into a game-changer for the Brangus breed. This Summit Sire’s chart-topping EPDs influenced The Oaks program and are still sought after today. Other great herd-sires and donors followed and secured The Oaks reputation as a consistent producer of high quality cattle.

From the beginning, The Oaks’ focus has been building a program to add quality and value to their customers’ programs. They continue to pursue excellent Brangus genetics.
